For the past 3 years, it has been my mission to live simply and to live green, whether it is in my personal or professional life. But of course, in a balance, healthy way. I am still a young adult, going out with my friends, trying to learn more about myself and the world. But I believe it is our generation that needs to stand up now and change the way the previous generations have lived, providing a healthier, happier, more sustainable future for our children.
I have recently graduating in the Interior Architecture program at UNCG, which strives day by day to become more sustainable in and outside the classroom. My mentor and amazing professor, Anna Marsha-Baker was the leading cause of my interest in this way of living. She taught me to become more aware of how my designs will create a large impact, positive or negative on our planet. She inspired me to always look to the local culture and find the greenest, less invasive way to design in all of my studio projects. But most important, she taught me it is education that will decrease human destruction to our planet. I never knew at the moment how special it was to visit Meredith College in North Carolina and hear William Mcdonough speak. The beginning chapter of my green living world. I will never forget that bus ride home: knowing and believing that it is up to me as a designer, daughter, sister, friend and fellow citizen to inform others on how to live just a little bit greener.
Because of my experiences in the design and green living world, I have come across amazing people who either share the same interests, or those who are not yet ready to accept this new way of living. This is fine by me, as long as I can help inform these people why I, as well as many others, are changing slightly our way of living.
This is my everyday journey to live a little more green and a little less destructive to our planet. From Rockville, Maryland, a suburban city outside of Washington D.C. to the wonders of my travelers in the U.S. and hopefully beyond!
Please comment, question and even challenge my way of living. Be well.

Hello,
My name is Bill Hawthorne, and I represent maacenter.org, a leading web resource for asbestos exposure and mesothelioma cancer information. Our organization is dedicated to increasing awareness of the terrible health consequences of asbestos exposure through the distribution of the best informational materials and public outreach efforts.
I found your site through a search and decided to contact you because of its high environmental and green presence which is extremely important in our movement. Your viewers are extremely savvy and motivated. The promotion of how buildings should now be built using green products to avoid asbestos and mesothelioma as well as the awareness of past buildings and preventative steps in avoiding asbestos exposure are extremely important. My goal is to get a resource link on your site/blog or even to provide a guest posting to be placed.
I look forward to hearing from you. Please feel free to check out our website at http://www.maacenter.org. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Bill
